THE LAST FEW MONTHS

August 01, 2019
Its good to be writing again, I haven't had a single moment to do so over the last few months which is why I have been so quiet!

I do really enjoy writing, and I've realised that it isn't something I should stop doing. The problem is I haven't has time! I have learnt that you have got to make time for the things you enjoy, so here I am back again with (hopefully) some valuable insight into what I have learnt over the last few months I haven't been active on here.

1. MAKE TIME FOR WHAT YOU LOVE
And to a point, I do. I go to the gym most evenings and I always seem to have time to browse ASOS but I realise I haven't been making enough time for things that make me happy (other than the gym!) It's so important for your own well-being to do things you enjoy on a regular basis. Its so easy to fall into a routine but there is so much more to life than work. Work to live not live to work!

2. SEE THE POSITIVES
I have struggled in the past with mental health, and I think everybody has to a point. When things get really tough, and it feels like your world is falling apart remember to take a step back and appreciate the things you have to be grateful for. Life is messy, and things won't always be perfect but you do have a choice: you can dwell on the bad stuff or you can embrace the good stuff and put the bad things in a box to one side. I am very much trying to do the latter at the moment and learning to do so.

3. RESPECT DIFFERENCES
You're never going to always see eye-to-eye with everyone, even the people you love. Sometimes, it is easier to accept that you're not going to change their point of view and agree to disagree. We can't be inside each others heads, but remember that people have their own way of thinking about things and it's important to try and see situations from others point of views.

4. CHANGE WHAT DOESN'T MAKE YOU HAPPY
Life is too short to just put up with things that aren't positively influencing your life when you have the power to change it. Life has ups and downs, but you are in the driving seat of your own life and sometimes you do have to put yourself first. It's not being selfish, it's just living your own life as you should. Sometimes things have to change in order to be happy and even if it can be hard to do so.

5. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
and you're half way there! Seriously though, you won't get anywhere in life and achieve your goals if you don't believe in yourself. You are capable of your goals and getting through challenges. If you don't believe that you can then you are going to struggle as you've set yourself up for failure before its even begun!

6. SELF CARE IS IMPORTANT
Evenings where you shut off away from your phone, laptop etc and have a bath or watch your favourite film with a galaxy ripple (my fave chocolate) are so important and definitely something I don't do enough of! Its important to take time for yourself, to just chill out and relax! I am such a busy person (my mum calls me a whirlwind) because I am always on the go but its so so important to take time out or you will become sick as I have learnt!

7. EACH DAY IS A GIFT
Each day is also only 24 hours long. So even when you're having what feels like THE WORST DAY EVER, know that in a few hours time your head will hit the pillow and it will be over and tomorrow is what you make it. See the good in each day, even the small things like that funny thing someone said or that you saw a really cute sausage dog on your walk home, be appreciative of the little things!

So there you have it, my reflection over the last few months. I will be writing more and more from now on so looking forward to it! Oh yeah, its always great to have something to look forward to!
